Announcement Regarding Fall Semester UMDE Applications (For Extended Year Students)

Dear Students,

In accordance with a new decision to be implemented for the first time this year, our students in their extended years (9th, 11th, and 13th semesters) will be able to participate in the UMDE (Applied Engineering Experience Education) program during the Fall Semester, provided that the Faculty Executive Board (FYK) approves their applications.

The application steps regarding the process and the restrictions to be noted are specified below:

Application Steps

  • Petition Submission: For the official application process to our university, our students must submit their petitions stating their UMDE requests to our department secretariat during the course selection week (on September 14th). These petitions will be forwarded to the Faculty Executive Board (FYK) for evaluation.
  • Company Interviews: It is highly recommended that our students begin interviewing with the factories or companies where they plan to complete their UMDE program as soon as possible.
  • Commission Processes: The application processes, which will be announced by our Department's UMDE Commission, can be completed before or after the FYK approval.

Important Conditions and Restrictions

  • Attendance Requirement: Students who have mandatory course attendance requirements during the Fall semester cannot apply for UMDE under this announcement.
  • Status of 4th-Year Students: Our 4th-year students who are entering their 7th semester for the first time cannot benefit from the Fall semester UMDE program. 4th-year students will be able to exercise their UMDE rights during the 8th semester (Spring Semester) in accordance with the curriculum.

This is an important announcement to all our students.
